FAQ, Frequently Asked Questions

The Microflown sensor is a relatively new sensor.
The questions that are asked most frequently are answered here.

If you have any other questions please mail to: info@microfown.com

  • Q) What is the temperature sensitivity of the Microflown sensor?
    A) The Microflown measures temperature difference and is therefore not sensitive for temperature variations in the ambient temperature.
In chapter 3 of the Ebook more information can be found.

  • Q) What is the upper sound limit of the Microflown sensor?
    A) The upper sound limit of the sensing element is 135dB, see chapter 3 of the Ebook
When packaged in a 1/2" housing the upper limit drops to 125dB.
Special Microflowns are available that reach 170dB, see chapter 14 of the Ebook

  • Q) What is the sensitivity for humidity change of the Microflown sensor?
    A) The sensitivity is very low, see chapter 3 of the Ebook

  • Q) What is the long term stability of the Microflown sensor?
    A) We did not much R&D on this topic yet.
In one R&D we measured the stability over 7 days. No substantial variations are measured (click here to see the paper).
We are planning to investigate this matter in more depth
