The Microflown Motorbike on the road pass by test helps councils and policemen to enforce the requirements of the European Directive 78/1015/CE, for permissible sound level and exhaust systems for motorcycles.

This stand-alone system is based on the Microflowns PU probe and a Class 1 IEC 62594 microphone. The combination of both sensors allows the system to detect a motorbike on the road, calculate the speed of the motorbike, the direction of approach, the closest point to the system and then trigger the microphone CLASS 1 so that it can measure and extrapolate the real emitted level by the motorbike. If the emitted level is above the permitted threshold a picture of the number plate is taken and sent to a central data base with the noise level and then compared to the allowed noise level by the European Directive and its homologation.

The system is completely weatherproof and it is mounted in several configurations so that it can be easily installed. The portable version includes a GPS in order to be able to install the device in different locations registering for each period where it is controlling the traffic.

The system is perfect to be installed in highways, urban streets and motorbike gathering areas to reduce the global noise emissions and promote the maintenance of the bikes to achieve a better quality of life in the nearby areas.

This allows the police to automatically fine noise offenders and control the emissions with an autonomic system, saving costs and manpower.
