Microflown’s community noise supervisor is a new tool to control noise produced in leisure areas by people gathering, nightlife activity and commercial areas. It allows inhabitants, policemen and bar owners to exactly asses the emission levels to each noise source located in the surroundings by calculating the inmission  at the receiver, locating the noise source and then applying the inverse transfer path to the origin of the noise.

The system is alarm-based so each time an event is detected, the noise source is tracked and localized, the calculated transfer path is added to the noise level and the emission is compared with the allowed threshold. Depending on the configuration, the alarm and the calculated result, such as level of emission, classification of event type, date, time of occurrence, is sent to the control station via internet or GSM and stored in the central data base.

The Transfer path is calculated, simulated and applied to the noise inmission level at the measured point in order to take into account the noise loss during the propagation from the noise source to the sensor.

The system is very suitable to control night clubs and discotheques, being able to register closing times, isolation problems, automatic isolation system usage… and preventing neighborhood annoyance.

A camera can be added on the system so once an event is triggered, a picture of the noise source is taken, making the area more safe and controlled. Also neighbors comments and complaints can be registered and integrated into the supervising network by integrating the information in an interactive web service.
